November 2001, Ft Myers, Florida—Harry Pilkington has joined Icon, Inc. as general manager of construction.

    Pilkington will run all construction operations for Icon. He currently is based in Ft. Meyers, where he is overseeing construction of the insulating concrete form (ICF) walls of Waterside IV, the fourth of an eight-building high-rise condominium project at Bay Beach. When finished, Waterside IV will be the tallest building ever built in North America with ICF walls.

    Pilkington has more than 30 years of high-rise and vertical concrete experience and previously served as general superintendent for Conshor, the largest concrete forming contractor in South Florida. He first became acquainted with ICF construction while serving as a consultant to a company that installed the walls on the Waterside III building, which also contains ICF infill walls.

    Icon, Inc. was created to fill the need for large-scale commercial and residential ICF construction. Icon serves principally as a subcontractor for the installation of ICF walls on such projects and also provides ICF pre-construction services and general ICF consulting services. Icon's customers include architects, designers and developers who use or design with insulating concrete forms.
